What to Wear for Your Family Photos

The right wardrobe can make all the difference in photos, but sometimes coordinating outfits for the whole family can feel a little overwhelming. As a local Toronto family photographer, I've got some helpful tips to guide you in selecting the ideal outfits.

Start by determining the ambiance you aim to achieve. For neutral color paleette and light-toned clothing, such as cream, white, beige, muted pinks, light blues, and gray. Alternatively, you can introduce a couple of vibrant pops of color while keeping the rest of the ensemble neutral.

Avoid words or logos in your clothing. Clothing with words tends to divert attention, as the viewer's focus is drawn towards reading the text. To maintain simplicity and visual harmony, it is advisable to steer clear of logos on clothing. Fabric prints tend to clash with each other in photographs. Unless you have an artistic eye for pattern coordination, it is better to limit your prints.
